You’ve mulled over your film selections, and you’ve deliberated about where to volunteer. Our advice? Carve out some time in your schedule and dive in! Make it a week of movie-going wonder and volunteering fun. It’s rewarding and entertaining.
Because we only have 20 days until Opening Night, and the curtains won’t rise without you, so sign up to volunteer now!

Where do you want to leave your mark on the festival? At a venue? At a party? In the awesome festival hub that is the warehouse? Helping guests get to and fro in the Answer Squad? You all have unique talents and gifts to share, and we’re excited to see where you land. You make this whole thing run like clockwork, and we remain in awe of your generosity and the spirit that defines this festival.

When you login as a volunteer you will notice that Warehouse and Answer Squad shifts are now live with lots of room for you to sign up. You’re gonna love this year’s fancy new warehouse that is close to town and super spacious! And remember Warehouse shifts feature DOUBLE SWAG ALL DAY EVERYDAY. We also have some pre-festival credentialing shifts and watch out for the special new Bounce House Attendant shifts under Open Space.

Or a neighbor, or a colleague, or a stranger. Volunteering is better together. Come in with old friends, and walk out with new ones.We could hire the fanciest Hollywood publicist, employ the smoothest spokesperson, and no one would be as great of a representative of our festival or of the joys of volunteering with us as YOU. So spread the word! We would be so grateful. And new recruits will appreciate being brought into the fold. Sometimes a little encouragement can make a world of difference. The more the merrier! Be sure to mention the free movie, free party, free tshirt, and priceless memories that await!
We are still on the hunt for a few good men and women to join the festival management team. And good news, you can handle the truth of how much fun it will be. You can join us in person at the final Manager Open House of the year on Thursday, July 19 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Old Town Playhouse, or check us out virtually by taking a look at this complete detailed list (NEW ONLINE YESTERDAY) of available positions online. Then email us at with your interest. Our biggest and liveliest venue, The Kubrick (formerly Hockstad Auditorium), could really use a few extra hands!

Parade Float! Don’t know if you’ve seen the Open Space schedule, but there’s a certain film with an iconic parade scene we want nothing more than to recreate. So if you believe in our dream to have the Open Space twisting and shouting like never before, please reply to this email if you can loan us a float. Danke Schoen!
American Flags! Mini Fake Christmas Trees! And on the note of the above item, we could use some American flags (ideally with poles) and some fake midsized Christmas trees to decorate said float. Let us know if you can donate or if we can borrow either item.

Patio Lounge Set! The mise-en-scène at this year’s Founders and Filmmaker Parties could really use a cool patio lounge set to help set the vibe. If you have one (no dining set, just sofa, love seat, table, etc.) that we could borrow (we would arrange transport), reply to this email!

You may have sneaked a peek on our social media or heard that this year’s volunteer tshirt color is a fashionable shade of teal. It’s a made-in-the-USA beauty with a cool design just for volunteers and the only place you can get it is when you pick up your credentials! Come by the State Theatre on Friday, July 27 from 1 – 7 pm, or Saturday, July 28 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Festival Office at 232 E. Front Street (right across from the State!). After Saturday, credentials and tshirts will be available at the Festival Office starting Monday, July 30.

We’ve made it through another info download. Now use your smart device or computer to navigate to our website and sign on up. We’ll be back in touch with more info and reminders and until then let us know if you have any questions.
