Avoid the traffic and take advantage of this year’s pilot Bike Share program powered by Norte! Youth Cycling. Borrow one of our no-frills bikes, travel for free between festival venues, and park in our pop-up bike racks. The grassroots TCFF Bike Share is meant to help people move between venues in an awesome way that’s environmentally friendly, community-driven and convenient for all. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Bikes will be available at TCFF venues:
- Open Space
- Bijou by the Bay
- State Theatre
- City Opera House
- Central High School
- Milliken Auditorium
- Old Town Playhouse
- The Kubrick at Central Grade
How It Works:
- Look for a somewhat orange sharing bicycle in a somewhat orange pop up bike rack at a TCFF venue
- Hop on the bike and ride it to your movie
- Park the bicycle in a somewhat orange rack.
- Watch your movie
- Give yourself a pat on the back for going by bike and making the TCFF a little bit more awesome.
- Share your adventure with #BikeTCFF
Things not to do with your TCFF sharing bicycle:
- Park it somewhere other than a somewhat orange pop up bike rack
- Be mean to it
- Lock it
Donating
If you have a functioning adult bike in need of a good home, please consider donating it to the TCFF and Norte! You can drop the bike off at the Norte! Clubhouse on the grounds of the Civic Center (near the new playground) and it will be put to work transporting happy moviegoers across our fair city.
Below is our map of suggested bike routes from Miliken/Central High School to Downtown Traverse City as well as Downtown Traverse City to Kirkbride at the Commons.
