Great volunteers make the Traverse City Film Festival and year-round operation of the State Theatre possible. As a volunteer-based, charitable non-profit organization, we depend on the generosity of our volunteers, who run all areas of the festival and the State Theatre. We hope you’ll join our team of hard-working, problem-solving movie lovers dedicated to helping festival patrons and guests have the best film-going experience possible.

New volunteers should create an account in our system now and get ready for shifts to go live! Please complete our online form or click the VOLUNTEER SIGNUP button below.

Step 1 (contact information) and Step 2 (about you) are required. If you would like to also volunteer at the State Theatre, please mark the “Year-Round State Volunteer” box. Step 3 allows you to submit comments if you wish.

We look carefully at each form, so please complete as much of Steps 1-2 as possible. Knowing about your background, interests, and availability will help us find the best place for you within the festival organization.

If you are interested in a leadership or skilled position with the festival, be sure to complete the “Leadership Roles Available” section at the end of Step 2. Unfortunately, the festival will not have the opportunity to respond to every leadership applicant. Eligible applicants will be contacted by phone or email.

Please read the Volunteer Handbook carefully. Refer to Form Help if you have problems with the volunteer system.
