Susan Sarandon and Pierce Brosnan give two of their best performances ever as middle-aged parents whose lives are shattered when their oldest son is killed. Shortly after the funeral, Bennett's classmate Rose (Carey Mulligan) introduces herself and reveals that she's carrying their late son's baby. This honest look at pain, grief and healing will grab you immediately and carry you through to the other side. And we will hear a lot more about newcomer Carey Mulligan ("When Did You Last See Your Father," TCFF08), who is a revelation in her role as Rose. Sundance called this first feature from writer-director Shana Feste "one of the standout works" of their fest, and said it is "as fine a debut as we can present." We concur -- we love this film.
