What looked like just another case of a stoner being nabbed by the narks, turned out to be a carefully orchestrated plot by Atty. Gen. Ashcroft and the Justice Dept., to go after Tommy Chong and make an example out of him, not under the aegis of the War on Drugs, but rather the War on Terror! After competing for the national title, the American air guitar champs travel to Finland where they must face international competition and global political tension. This year, as celebrations of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 250th birthday take place around the world, the Traverse City Film Festival will join in the festivities with a special screening of this rousing, Oscar-winning film. The brilliantly told story of a boy-genius, played by Michigan's Tom Hulce (an Interlochen grad), reveals the life behind the music from the perspective of Antonio Salieri, a tortured friend of Mozart's and a composer himself.
