Only at the Traverse City Film Festival can you experience movies sitting right smack dab out in the middle of the Bay. Watch stars on the screen under stars in the sky! We’re partnering with our friends at the Nauti-Cat to offer a special opportunity for film lovers with sea legs.

20142910256_737ba99bf9_oSet sail into the sunset to enjoy a great film in a simply unparalleled setting. We’ll head out on the largestsailing catamaran on the Great Lakes each night with a projector, screen, and popcorn in tow. Behold the Bay’s stunning vistas, and enjoy an outstanding film — an evening that truly encompasses the best of all that Traverse City offers. If you keep a bucket list, this should be on it!

These unique filmgoing excursions depart at 9:45 pm every night of the festival from the gas dock in Clinch Marina. Ticket holders should plan to arrive at the gas dock at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure. Movies begin at dusk (approximately 10 pm).

Drinks are available for purchase—the Nauti-Cat offers an exciting variety of libations including their world-famous specialty drink—Cat-Nip!

Refunds will be issued in the event of inclement weather. Remember to bring a blanket, a sweater, or other warm clothing, and be prepared for a swashbuckling moviegoing experience.

Important Ticket Holder Information

Please arrive at the gas dock in Clinch Park Marina (see map here) at 9:15 pm. Do NOT go to the West Bay Beach Holiday Inn Resort. Meet at the white railing right by the marina building in Clinch Park. The Nauti-Cat will arrive at the dock at approximately 9:45 pm and we will board.

Please feel free to bring deck chairs to sit in, if you would like a guaranteed comfortable seat. There is some other seating available on board.

Please dress appropriately for a night on the water, as it gets chilly out there. Wear layers! It cools down at sunset, and it is cold on the water. You may even want to bring blankets.

There will be adult beverages for purchase on the boat, cash only. We provide the free popcorn!

If we must cancel the evening screening on the water due to inclement weather, we will do our best to reach you before you reach the dock. But please, check our website and social media if the weather looks iffy. You can also click here to see the most up-to-date report. If we cannot sail, we will refund your ticket.
